Senior Outsourced Accountant – Charities & NFP

About the role

We have a great opportunity for an Outsourced Accounting Senior working predominantly with Not‑For‑Profit (NFP) clients to join our team in the Manchester office. You’ll work with a varied portfolio of NFP and charity clients, helping them get the most from their finance function while delivering a high‑quality, advisory‑led service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare management accounts, statutory accounts, consolidations and financial reports for NFP and charity clients, applying UK GAAP and Charities SORP.
• Maintain accurate day‑to‑day accounting records, month‑end adjustments and VAT returns.
• Lead client projects such as cloud accounting conversions, bespoke reporting and finance process improvements.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, Relationship Managers and Partners, acting as a key contact.
• Supervise and develop junior colleagues, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of work.

Required profile

• At least 2 years’ experience in an accountancy practice, ACA or ACCA qualified or progressing towards qualification.
• Relevant experience working with Not‑For‑Profit clients (charities, foundations, membership organisations).
• Strong understanding of NFP accounting, fund accounting and Charities SORP requirements.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly.
