Senior Personal Tax Manager

About the role

We are recruiting a Senior Personal Tax Manager for a respected accountancy and advisory firm in North London. The role involves managing a portfolio of private clients, delivering expert tax compliance and advisory services, and building trusted relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners.
• Oversee preparation and review of complex self‑assessment tax returns.
• Provide proactive advice on income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and tax planning.
• Identify tax‑efficient strategies and add value for clients.
• Handle HMRC correspondence, enquiries and investigations.
• Review work of junior team members and provide technical guidance.
• Support wider tax team on advisory projects and complex client matters.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in UK tax legislation.

Required profile

• CTA qualification or equivalent personal tax experience.
• Significant experience in a personal tax role within an accountancy practice or professional services environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation.
• Proven ability to manage complex private client portfolios.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Proactive, commercial mindset with client‑focused approach.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet multiple deadlines.
