Senior Platform Engineer

About the role

Monzo is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join its Infrastructure Platform team. You will help build and manage the cloud infrastructure that powers Monzo’s micro‑services, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance across AWS and GCP.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and evolve Kubernetes clusters, service mesh, and networking for all Monzo services.
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure components on AWS and GCP.
• Collaborate with other platform teams to abstract cloud complexity and enable rapid delivery of customer‑focused features.
• Contribute to shared tooling and automation that improves developer productivity.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response to maintain high service availability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building and operating large‑scale cloud platforms.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on reliability and performance.
• Experience working in fast‑moving, product‑focused engineering environments.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and share best practices.
