Senior Private Client Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Private Client Tax Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and trusts in Cambridge. You will work closely with senior leadership on advisory projects while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied private‑client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Deliver commercially focused personal tax advice and oversee compliance work.
• Lead complex advisory assignments covering Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Trust Tax and succession planning.
• Review and sign‑off complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Support partners and directors on technical projects and high‑value client matters.
• Identify growth opportunities and contribute to the firm’s expansion.
• Mentor and develop managers and junior tax staff, promoting technical excellence.
• Participate in departmental planning, operational improvements and broader business initiatives.

Required profile

• CTA qualified (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in a UK accountancy practice specialising in Private Client or Personal Tax.
• Strong technical knowledge of Personal Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax and Trust Tax.
• Proven track record managing a substantial client portfolio with both compliance and advisory responsibilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build lasting client relationships and deliver high‑quality advice.
