Senior Procurement Manager – IT/Digital (6‑month contract)

About the role

This interim senior position sits within a nationally significant, highly regulated organisation driving digital and infrastructure transformation. Reporting to the CIO, you will own IT and digital procurement across software, cloud, telecoms and critical infrastructure, shaping strategy and influencing high‑value investment decisions from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end procurement strategy for IT and digital categories, including software, cloud and infrastructure.
• Oversee complex sourcing programmes such as frameworks, tenders and regulated procurement processes.
• Develop and deliver a clear software sourcing strategy as a core project.
• Partner with CIO‑level stakeholders to align procurement with technology roadmaps and business priorities.
• Manage supplier negotiations, driving commercial outcomes across new and existing vendor relationships.
• Provide governance and assurance to ensure all procurement activity meets regulatory and compliance standards.
• Lead, mentor and coordinate a blended team of internal resources and external service providers.
• Act as the primary interface between procurement, legal, finance and vendor management functions.

Required profile

• Deep experience in IT/technology procurement covering software, cloud, telecoms and infrastructure.
• Proven track record leading complex sourcing activities, including frameworks and regulated tenders.
• Strong stakeholder management with experience engaging CIO and senior executive‑level stakeholders.
• Demonstrable leadership capability managing cross‑functional teams.
• Commercial acumen and negotiation expertise.
• Solid understanding of procurement governance and compliance frameworks (e.g., Procurement Act 2023).
• Ability to operate confidently in a senior leadership environment.
