Senior Product Cost Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Cost Engineer to lead cost‑reduction and value‑engineering initiatives across our advanced mechanical and electrical products. The role is hands‑on, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain and quality teams to deliver design improvements while maintaining safety, performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement engineering changes that lower product and component costs.
• Lead value‑engineering projects for mechanical and electrical assemblies.
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials.
• Design, modify and release engineering changes to improve manufacturability.
• Validate alternative components through testing, trials and analysis.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to roll out engineering changes.
• Manage engineering risks while ensuring product reliability, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support continuous improvement and best‑practice sharing across engineering and production teams.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience delivering engineering design changes in a manufacturing or product development environment.
• Track record of implementing value‑engineering or cost‑reduction projects.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical components and supplier capabilities.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances and quality standards.
• Experience validating engineering changes through testing and trials.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
