Senior Project Manager

About the role

Our client is expanding its Construction and Project Delivery team and seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead major multi‑disciplinary projects within a long‑term portfolio of works. Reporting to the Head of Construction or Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery of complex design and construction projects in the water or regulated infrastructure sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of major multi‑disciplinary projects from inception to completion, ensuring safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and resources to meet key delivery objectives.
• Review and approve Project Execution Plans (PEPs) and maintain project controls throughout delivery.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Oversee commercial performance, forecasting and cost control across projects.
• Lead project governance reviews and report on progress, risks and opportunities.
• Support and motivate multi‑disciplinary teams to achieve exceptional outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and construction health & safety requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering complex design and construction projects within the water sector or a similar regulated infrastructure environment.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a construction, engineering or commercial discipline.
• Project Management qualification such as PMQ or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of NEC and/or IChemE contracts.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Commercially aware with solid project planning and risk management experience.
• Strategic thinker with strong operational and technical delivery capabilities.
• Positive, proactive and solutions‑focused approach.

What we offer

• Salary range £70,000 – £80,000 per year.
