Senior Project Procurement Specialist

About the role

Babcock is recruiting a Senior Project Procurement Specialist for its Devonport Royal Dockyard site in Plymouth. The role leads high-value procurement and contracting strategies for major infrastructure, estates and engineering programmes that support the UK's defence capabilities, in a highly regulated and complex environment. It is full time, 35 hours per week and based on site.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of high-value procurement and contracting strategies
• Manage end-to-end procurement, from market engagement through to contract award
• Develop framework agreements and commercial models for major infrastructure and engineering programmes
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and strategic delivery partners
• Drive commercial excellence, compliance and value-for-money outcomes

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic procurement within infrastructure, defence or other highly regulated environments
• Experience designing and delivering multi-supplier and multi-lot framework agreements
• Experience managing high-value complex procurements at portfolio level or exceeding £100 million in value
• Demonstrable ability to influence senior stakeholders and build supply chain partnerships
• Sole UK National able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance; many roles are subject to trade control restrictions

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of Engineering and Construction Contract, Professional Services Contract and Term Service Contract forms
• Strategic sourcing, commercial management and contract frameworks
