Senior Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Lead

About the role

Support the business to improve profitability through cost reduction and project efficiency. Protect the business through contract scrutiny and administration. Work with various departments to minimise risk and exposure throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the qualified commercial lead, overseeing financial performance of all projects.
• Identify, price and submit variations promptly, maintaining live variation trackers.
• Manage Applications for Payment (AFPs), ensuring 100% on‑time submission and accurate invoicing.
• Track retention amounts, chase commercial deadlines and ensure adherence to H&S policies.
• Maintain accurate commercial files, produce monthly cost‑value reconciliation reports and weekly updates to the Financial Controller and Operations Director.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a QS or Commercial Manager role within construction.
• Strong knowledge of ground‑working and construction industry practices.
• Ability to build and maintain professional client relationships.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of NEC contracts.
• Working knowledge of JCT contracts.

• Salary range £95,000 – £110,000 per year.
