Senior Quantity Surveyor – Cost Consultant (Oxford)

About the role

Our client, a highly‑rated cost consultancy in Oxford, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead complex construction projects and shape the strategic direction of the practice. Reporting directly to the Partner, you will act as the primary commercial point of contact for key clients and mentor junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead major commercial, residential, educational and mixed‑use projects from inception to completion.
• Manage client relationships, ensuring repeat business and enhancing the firm’s reputation.
• Provide pre‑contract and post‑contract cost control advice, using JCT, NEC and other contract forms.
• Develop and implement risk management strategies across all project stages.
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate Quantity Surveyors, supporting MRICS training.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering large‑scale construction projects as a Quantity Surveyor or Cost Consultant.
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of client relationship management.
• Ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• UK right to work; UK nationals or those with current permission.
