Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential New Build

About the role

MCR Property Group is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its London‑based development team and lead the flagship residential new‑build project in Bedford. The role offers high visibility, reporting to the Construction Director, Commercial Director and the Board, and involves steering commercial performance from inception to final account.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present monthly commercial reports, cost forecasts and valuations.
• Manage contract and subcontract packages, including procurement, tendering and variation administration.
• Support project managers and fellow quantity surveyors with value engineering and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee pre‑ and post‑contract administration, including bills of quantities, estimating and final accounts.
• Contribute to procurement strategy and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential or industrial projects.
• Background with a developer, main contractor or subcontractor.
• Strong understanding of subcontract procurement and construction commercial management.
• Proven ability in cost planning, estimating, valuations and commercial reporting.
• Full UK driving licence.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Competence with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
