Senior Regulatory Lawyer – Fitness to Practise (Hybrid)

About the role

This senior regulatory lawyer position offers a hybrid working model in London, supporting a well‑established regulatory organisation. You will provide strategic oversight of complex fitness‑to‑practise casework and guide high‑risk investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and direct complex regulatory investigations and hearing preparation.
• Provide senior legal advice on sensitive and high‑risk matters.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of legal professionals.
• Manage external legal providers, ensuring quality, performance and compliance.
• Use performance data to drive case progression, resource planning and continuous improvement.
• Support governance, quality assurance initiatives and contribute to policy development.
• Deputise for senior leadership when required.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with at least five years’ experience.
• Demonstrated experience in fitness‑to‑practise within a regulatory environment.
• Strong technical legal knowledge and sound judgement.
• Proven leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Experience managing external legal providers; public‑sector or regulatory background is a plus.
