Senior Relationship Manager – Architecture, Design & Fashion

About the role

The British Council’s Architecture, Design & Fashion (ADF) team is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager to lead and deliver strategic programmes across the UK sector. You will use your deep sector knowledge to develop partnerships, manage budgets and ensure high‑quality project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver ADF projects and programmes within the global Arts portfolio.
• Manage day‑to‑day delivery, budgets and financial reporting for medium to large programmes.
• Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with key UK partners, external delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Represent the ADF portfolio internally and externally to enhance its reputation.
• Lead the preparation and submission of high‑quality bids, tenders and proposals.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in the UK architecture, design, fashion or craft sectors.
• Strong network of contacts within these sectors across the UK.
• Proven ability to write technical sections of cross‑disciplinary proposals.
• Experience planning, commissioning and managing programmes delivered through third‑party organisations.
