Senior Remedial Works & Water Hygiene Engineer

About the role

We are seeking two experienced Senior Remedial Works / Water Hygiene Engineers to join a leading national consultancy specialising in water hygiene, treatment and compliance. You will work field‑based across London and the South of England, delivering high‑quality remedial plumbing and water‑hygiene projects for domestic and commercial clients.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out temperature monitoring and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
• Perform water‑hygiene works such as CWST maintenance, tank cleaning, disinfection, chlorination and shower‑head descaling.
• Service, maintain and replace TMVs/TMTs and related plumbing components.
• Remove dead legs, modify pipework, alter systems and install expansion vessels.
• Collect water samples, conduct system inspections and produce accurate technical reports.
• Diagnose faults and execute remedial works on live domestic water systems.
• Adhere to schedules, SLAs, industry regulations and client specifications while maintaining detailed records.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in water hygiene, water treatment, Legionella control or remedial plumbing.
• NVQ/City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent) and a valid Unvented Hot Water qualification.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong practical plumbing and fault‑finding experience on live domestic water systems.

Required skills

• Water‑hygiene operations (CWST, tank cleaning, chlorination, descaling).
• Plumbing maintenance (TMV/TMT servicing, dead‑leg removal, pipework modification).
• Temperature monitoring and PPM.
• Water sampling and system inspection.
• Knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG274, British Standards and Health & Safety requirements.
