Senior Remediation Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Remediation Engineer to join a leading environmental restoration consultancy in the North West. You will be responsible for designing, managing and delivering complex contaminated‑land projects while working with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage remediation projects from inception through to completion.
• Develop remediation strategies and remedial design solutions for contaminated sites.
• Oversee contractors, site‑based activities and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Conduct site assessments and interpret environmental and geological data.
• Prepare technical, verification and risk assessment reports.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, contractors and project teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and consultants.
• Control project budgets, programmes and resource allocation.
• Support business development and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Senior Remediation Engineer or in a similar remediation‑focused role.
• Strong understanding of contaminated‑land legislation and best‑practice remediation methods.
• Experience developing remediation strategies and overseeing their implementation.
