Senior Residential Property Solicitor – Head of Conveyancing

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to lead our conveyancing team in Horsham. This senior position combines fee‑earning work with strategic department development, offering the chance to shape the future of our residential property practice.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a full caseload of residential conveyancing matters, including freehold, leasehold, first‑time buyer, Help to Buy, shared ownership, re‑mortgages, equity release and landlord‑tenant lease work.
• Oversee sales, purchases, investment properties and portfolio management.
• Lead, supervise and mentor the residential conveyancing team.
• Ensure efficient file management and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Contribute to business development, growth strategy and process improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, agents, lenders and referrers.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
• 3+ years post‑qualification experience in residential conveyancing.
• Strong technical knowledge of residential property law.
• Proven ability to manage matters independently and supervise others.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercially aware, proactive and client‑focused.
• Ambitious, motivated and interested in leadership and department growth.
