Senior Site Manager – New Build & Design & Build Projects

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Manager to lead new‑build, design‑and‑build projects for a leading principal contractor in Manchester. You will be responsible for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, programme adherence, budget control and high‑quality delivery across leisure and healthcare sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, labour and suppliers.
• Drive programme delivery and short‑term planning.
• Lead site health & safety in line with CDM Regulations.
• Oversee quality assurance procedures and site inspections.
• Ensure Building Regulations compliance and arrange statutory inspections.
• Coordinate design information on Design & Build projects.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and key stakeholders.
• Use Procore and other digital construction management systems.
• Maintain accurate site records, progress reports and updates.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Site Manager, including senior‑level responsibility.
• Proven track record delivering new‑build projects under JCT Design & Build contracts.
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination skills.
• Excellent health & safety knowledge and site management standards.
• Relevant certifications: SMSTS, Black CSCS Card, First Aid at Work, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Marshal/Warden, Full UK Driving Licence.
