Senior Social Editor

About the role

British GQ, part of Condé Nast, is looking for a Senior Social Editor in London to own the brand's social media strategy and manage content distribution across all its social platforms. The role suits someone with a strong journalistic background who can write engaging social captions and has a proven track record of growing social traffic. It works in a fast-paced publishing environment and requires reacting in real time to cultural events while staying true to British GQ's editorial voice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee social storytelling and content distribution, with daily posting on all social channels
• Write all social captions and produce visually compelling editorial content
• Master British GQ's editorial voice and tone, which may differ between platforms
• Plan, design and implement social strategies for cover reveals, tentpoles and global and local stories
• Work with editorial and commerce teams to increase traffic, adjust strategy according to KPIs and collaborate with the social video team on video content

Required profile

• Strong journalistic background
• 5+ years of social media experience
• Proven ability in visual storytelling that drives engagement
• Able to work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends when needed
• Clear communication and presentation skills to all levels of management

Required skills

• Writing skills for captions, headlines and visual storytelling
• Immacurate proof-reading and attention to detail
• Video editing and asset creation
