Senior Social Worker – Child Protection & Court

About the role

Our client Leicestershire County Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to work as a Child Protection (CP) and Court worker. The role involves high‑quality statutory social work with children, young people and families, focusing on complex safeguarding, child protection and court‑related matters.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake complex child protection and safeguarding work, assess risks, develop and implement protection plans while keeping the child’s voice central.
• Manage court and legal duties, prepare evidence‑based statements and reports, liaise with legal teams, attend hearings and ensure compliance with court directions.
• Hold and manage a complex caseload, conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, review progress and meet statutory timescales.

Required profile

• Registered social worker with substantial experience in complex child protection and court proceedings.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities, provide guidance to junior staff and work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners.
