Senior Software Engineer, Cloud and Analytics Platform

About the role

Join Macquarie’s Engineering Services team to enhance the Cloud and Analytics Platform that powers the Commodities and Global Markets business. You will design, build and operate a distributed‑compute and data‑science platform, collaborating with quantitative analysts and traders worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain cloud‑native services on AWS using Kubernetes and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Build and operate production‑grade distributed compute and data‑science pipelines supporting trading and analytics workflows.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment with Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate AI‑driven capabilities such as LLMs, prompt engineering and Agentic‑AI frameworks into developer tools.
• Collaborate closely with quantitative analysts, traders and other stakeholders to translate research concepts into production solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade cloud platforms at scale.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with analysts and traders.
• Self‑motivated, inquisitive mindset with an agile problem‑solving approach.

Required skills

• Public‑cloud platforms – preferably AWS.
• Kubernetes and container orchestration.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm).
• Programming languages: Python, Java, Scala.
• Linux system administration and networking.
• Git‑based workflows.
• Apache Airflow, Dask, JupyterHub.
• Modern build systems (Bazel) and CI/CD pipelines.
• AI‑driven development (LLM, prompt engineering, Claude, Agentic‑AI frameworks, MCP tools).
