Senior Software Engineer – Commercial Aircraft Modification

About the role

Join a respected aerospace engineering organisation in Surrey, supporting the development and certification of software for commercial aircraft modifications. You will work in a collaborative environment, delivering safe and innovative airborne software solutions for cabin systems, onboard networks, and other critical aircraft components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and support airborne software components for commercial aircraft modifications.
• Review and produce software lifecycle documentation, including requirements, architecture, design, and verification data.
• Support certification activities in line with DO-178B/C standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers, cross‑functional engineering teams, and certification authorities.
• Monitor programme progress and ensure certification milestones are met.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software engineering processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline.
• Eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and the full development lifecycle.
• Experience in DO-178B/C certification environments and familiarity with DO-330/DO-331.
• Extensive experience across software architecture, requirements, design and verification.
