Senior Software Engineer - Go

About the role

Paddle provides a Merchant of Record payments infrastructure for SaaS companies, handling payments and billing globally. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, build and maintain high‑throughput, reliable systems that process hundreds of millions of dollars per month.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high‑throughput, highly reliable systems powering core Paddle capabilities.
• Lead the implementation of new features from concept through monitoring and ongoing improvement.
• Architect scalable solutions that grow with transaction volume and customer base.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code and set high standards for code quality.
• Lead design discussions and architecture decisions, balancing short‑term delivery with long‑term sustainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, data, risk, and operations teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers, drive best practices, and lead technical planning for team initiatives.
• Partner with Customer Support or Operations to investigate and resolve production issues.

Required profile

• Development background with Go.
• Experience designing and building high‑traffic systems in a cloud‑based AWS environment.
• Enjoy collaborating with both technical and non‑technical departments.
• Proactively improve code and team processes.
• Strong understanding of the full development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Solid grasp of API principles and best practices.
• Proven bias for action and strong customer focus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
