Senior Sub-Contract Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Sub‑Contract Buyer to join the Procurement function in Edinburgh, supporting the Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, Advanced Targeting, you will manage supplier contracts, pricing and compliance for early‑lifecycle projects and broader team initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain commercial agreements, including NDAs, TAAs, export licences and customer flow‑downs.
• Prepare RFQs, bid packs, contractual terms, price agreements and statements of work.
• Produce contract compliance packs for internal audit and external government bodies.
• Conduct market analysis and benchmark supplier pricing, driving cost negotiations and reporting.
• Support product cost review boards with material pricing analysis and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Collaborate with design engineering to source sustainable suppliers and manage competition through the Supply Review Board.
• Generate lifecycle management reports such as procurement plans, contract compliance status and bid support.
• Monitor supplier delivery performance against KPIs and manage material budgets, revenue forecasting and estimate‑to‑complete.
• Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities in partnership with suppliers and internal teams.
• Execute required SAP activities to create compliant contracts.

Required profile

• CIPS qualification preferred but not essential.
• Understanding of contract terms and conditions.
• Knowledge of trade and export compliance.
• Strong negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
