Senior Tax Platform Engineer – Corporate Technology

About the role

The Senior Tax Platform Engineer will lead the technical direction of the FT’s Tax and Compliance platforms within Corporate Technology. You will work closely with Tax, Finance and Compliance stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into robust, maintainable solutions, while ensuring the platforms integrate smoothly with the wider enterprise estate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for Tax and Compliance platforms, ensuring security, resilience and maintainability.
• Design, implement and support changes to specialist Tax and Compliance technology, handling integrations and data flows.
• Investigate complex technical and operational issues and drive sustainable resolutions.
• Identify technical debt, lifecycle concerns and platform risks, collaborating with engineering leadership to address them.
• Document systems, share knowledge with engineers and reduce dependency on individual experts.

Required profile

• Experienced engineer with strong expertise in enterprise tax, compliance or related financial technology platforms.
• Ability to take technical ownership of business‑critical technology and translate regulatory requirements into sustainable solutions.
• Comfortable working directly with Tax, Finance and Compliance stakeholders, asking the right questions and guiding technical decisions.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership without formal management responsibility, mentoring engineers and influencing vendors.
