Senior Transport Planner – Hybrid (London/Surrey)

About the role

Penguin Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK consultancy to hire a Senior Transport Planner. The role is hybrid, based in London or Surrey, and involves delivering transport planning solutions across a variety of development projects.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct transport assessments, statements and feasibility studies for development projects.
• Manage transport modelling and produce travel plans.
• Provide highway design input and coordinate with drainage and flood‑risk specialists.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders.
• Offer expert advice during meetings, consultations and public inquiries.
• Mentor junior team members and support project‑management activities.
• Contribute to bids, proposals and maintain strong client relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transport planning, including assessments, statements and travel plans.
• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning or related discipline.
• Professional accreditation (CIHT, TPS, ICE) or working towards it.
• Familiarity with UK transport policy, design standards and development planning processes.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
