Senior/Supervising Social Worker – Foster Care

About the role

Foster Care Associates (The FCA) is seeking a Senior/Supervising Social Worker to provide professional support to foster parents across Kent. Working remotely, you will help ensure that children in care receive safe, nurturing, and development‑focused environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in care.
• Monitor and assess the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring compliance with FCA policies.
• Deliver regular supervision and guidance to allocated foster parents in line with operational standards.
• Identify and coordinate additional support needs such as respite, therapy, activities, and holidays.
• Participate in multi‑agency meetings and contribute to case planning and reviews.
• Maintain accurate records of supervision, assessments, and interventions.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with substantial experience in fostering, child protection, or related social care.
• Strong understanding of fostering legislation, standards, and best practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and professionals.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of fostering policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience conducting assessments, supervision, and case reviews.
• Proficiency in maintaining detailed case records and reporting.
