Service Advisor – Customer‑Focused Automotive Role

About the role
Join a thriving dealership in Preston as a Service Advisor, where you will be the first point of contact for customers bringing their vehicles in for service, maintenance or repairs. You will ensure a smooth, hassle‑free experience while supporting workshop efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome customers at the service desk, build rapport and manage their expectations.
- Book service appointments, coordinate vehicle flow and maximise workshop productivity.
- Identify and upsell value‑adding services, parts and labour.
- Provide regular updates to customers and arrange courtesy cars or alternative transport when required.
- Collaborate closely with the Workshop Controller and technicians to keep jobs on schedule.
- Explain work performed, pricing and recommendations clearly to customers.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Aftersales Advisor, Service Receptionist or Service Consultant in a main dealer or reputable independent garage.
- Strong communication skills, both on the phone and face‑to‑face.
- Organised, accurate admin abilities with solid IT proficiency.
- Proactive attitude and calmness in a fast‑paced environment.
