SHE Manager – Safety, Health & Environment Lead

About the role

Our client, a global manufacturing organisation, is seeking an experienced Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager to lead the site’s SHE strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership to embed a strong safety culture, ensure compliance with UK legislation and drive continuous improvement across a busy production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continuously improve the site’s SHE management system.
• Ensure full compliance with UK SHE legislation, company standards and industry best practice.
• Provide expert SHE advice to managers and operational teams.
• Lead incident investigations, analyse root causes and drive corrective actions.
• Drive behavioural safety initiatives and employee engagement programmes.
• Monitor SHE performance through audits, inspections and KPI reporting.
• Manage environmental compliance, permits, waste handling and sustainability projects.
• Support operational and capital projects with robust risk assessments.
• Coach leaders to embed a positive SHE culture across the site.

Required profile

• Minimum five years’ management experience in a manufacturing or process‑industry setting.
• Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
• Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
• Proven ability to develop and improve SHE management systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
