Condition Monitoring Engineer (Rotating Equipment)

About the role

We are seeking a Condition Monitoring Engineer specialising in rotating equipment to join our expanding international engineering business based in Blackburn. The role combines field visits across the UK with technical analysis and offers a clear progression path towards senior technical and managerial positions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the condition and performance of industrial rotating machinery using vibration analysis and other condition monitoring techniques.
• Identify developing mechanical faults in pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fans, compressors and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide on‑site technical support and health‑assessment reports to customers throughout the UK.
• Undertake extensive product and technical training, including accredited vibration analysis training aligned with ISO 18436.
• Travel to customer sites, with overnight stays as required, while also working from home and the office on a hybrid basis.

Required profile

• Mechanical, reliability or maintenance engineering background with strong understanding of rotating machinery.
• Experience in fault‑finding on pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fans or compressors.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and stay overnight when needed.
• Motivation to develop expertise in condition monitoring, vibration analysis and predictive maintenance.

Required skills

• Vibration analysis (ISO 18436 accredited training preferred).
• Condition monitoring techniques.
• Mechanical fault‑finding.
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings, fans and compressors.
• Basic understanding of thermography and predictive maintenance (advantageous).
