Shift Leader – Retail Store

About the role

The Shift Leader will oversee daily store operations, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for customers. Acting as the primary point of contact in the Store Manager’s absence, you will coordinate staff, manage stock, and uphold health and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Open and close the store, handling duty cover and security procedures.
• Lead the team to deliver efficient service, manage queues, and resolve customer queries.
• Coordinate replenishment of high‑priority products and maintain accurate shelf‑edge and point‑of‑sale labeling.
• Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well‑presented at all times.
• Manage staff breaks, cover short‑term absences, and act as a recognised keyholder.
• Communicate updates and operational changes to the team promptly.
• Support the Store Manager with seasonal, community, and charity events.
• Monitor health and safety compliance and address any incidents.
