SHO Emergency Medicine Locum – 3‑Month ASAP Start

About the role

This short‑term locum position is for a Senior House Officer (SHO) in Emergency Medicine at Daisy Hill Hospital, Northern Ireland. The role starts as soon as possible and is initially for a three‑month period, providing essential emergency care within a busy acute setting.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver timely and effective emergency medical assessment and treatment to patients of all ages.
• Participate in the triage process, prioritising cases according to clinical urgency.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, paramedic and senior medical staff.
• Document patient encounters accurately in the hospital information system.
• Adhere to hospital policies, clinical guidelines and infection‑control standards.

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration with a full licence to practise.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Minimum six months of experience in an SHO or equivalent role within the UK.
• Eligibility to work in a fast‑paced emergency department.

Required skills

• Proficiency in emergency clinical assessment and management.
• Ability to make rapid, evidence‑based decisions under pressure.
