Sideloader FLT Driver - Full Time

About the role

A recruitment agency is recruiting an experienced Sideloader Driver to move long, heavy and awkward materials and components around a factory, loading and unloading, putting materials into storage and supplying production areas. The position is full time, based in Fenton, with hours from 07:30 to 17:00, Monday to Thursday and an early finish on Fridays.

Key responsibilities

• Loading and unloading materials from delivery vehicles or storage areas
• Transporting long, heavy or awkward loads such as steel sections, metal components, timber, pipes, chassis components or fabricated assemblies
• Moving materials between stores, production lines and manufacturing departments
• Feeding production areas with the correct materials so manufacturing is not held up
• Putting stock away into racking or designated storage locations
• Safely manoeuvring loads through factory environments where space may be restricted
• Carrying out pre-use checks on the sideloader and reporting defects
• Checking loads are secure, balanced and within the truck's capacity
• Working closely with stores, production, logistics and material-control teams
• Potentially carrying out stock movements and scanning using a warehouse or ERP system
• Following site-specific health and safety and traffic-management procedures

Required profile

• Previous sideloader, Combilift or multidirectional forklift experience preferred, rather than purely standard FLT experience
• Strong material-handling experience
• Good health and safety awareness
• Comfortable working in a busy manufacturing environment
