Site Director – Coastal Estate

About the role
The Site Director will lead the management of a 250‑acre coastal estate in Minehead, delivering an exceptional experience for shareholders, guests and visitors. Reporting to the Board, you will be responsible for the overall operation, financial performance and strategic development of the beach complex and surrounding grounds.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the beach complex, private beach, sea defences, lakes and landscaped areas.
- Develop, monitor and control income and expenditure in line with approved budgets and business plans.
- Recruit, train and manage permanent and seasonal staff, ensuring compliance with HR policies.
- Maintain Health & Safety, food safety and other regulatory compliance across the site.
- Prepare monthly financial and operational reports for the Board and shareholders.
- Attend Board and shareholder meetings, providing required documentation.
- Plan and schedule grounds work and seasonal projects.
- Collaborate with environmental agencies and neighbouring landowners on site enhancement initiatives.
- Enforce beach rules and ensure a safe environment for all users.
Required profile
- Proven experience managing a comparable facility or large estate.
- Strong leadership with the ability to manage both permanent and seasonal teams.
- Excellent knowledge of regulatory and legal obligations relevant to coastal sites.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience preparing financial and operational reports.
- Collaborative approach to working with external stakeholders.
