Site Forklift Truck Operator – 12 hr Rotating Shift

About the role

The Site FLT Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklift trucks to support material movements across the site. Working a 12‑hour rotating shift pattern, you will ensure finished goods are loaded for dispatch, raw materials are supplied to production, and waste is managed in line with strict safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate counter‑balance and reach forklifts (where trained/authorised) to move raw materials, finished goods, WIP and packaging.
• Accurately transfer ROH and ZPCK materials to production drop zones.
• Load and unload vehicles, verify load security and follow safe systems of work.
• Scan, record and update stock movements in the inventory system.
• Conduct daily pre‑use checks on equipment and report any defects immediately.
• Adhere to site safety rules, speed limits, PPE requirements and traffic routes.
• Support housekeeping, 5S standards and waste segregation into compactors.
• Clean, wash and dry bins for production reuse.
• Assist with stock counts, cycle counting and inventory accuracy activities.
• Communicate effectively with production, warehousing and logistics teams.

Required profile

• Willingness to work a 12‑hour rotating shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Ability to follow strict safety procedures and use personal protective equipment.
• Strong attention to detail for accurate stock recording and load verification.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with multiple site teams.

Required skills

• Forklift truck operation (counter‑balance and reach trucks).
• Use of material handling equipment.
• Experience with stock scanning and inventory management systems.
