Site Manager – £10m Refurbishment Project in Cardiff

About the role

The client, a leading regional contractor in the South West, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations on a £10 million refurbishment scheme in Cardiff. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be the key on‑site authority ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily site activities across the refurbishment programme.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour to meet programme milestones.
• Maintain health, safety and quality standards through regular inspections and checks.
• Manage site logistics, short‑term programming and material deliveries.
• Support project reporting, progress meetings and client liaison.
• Assist with commissioning, snagging and handover of the completed works.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Site Manager within a main‑contractor environment.
• Proven delivery of refurbishment projects in commercial, education, healthcare or public sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site management processes.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality standards.

Required skills

• SMSTS certification.
• CSCS card.
• First Aid qualification.
