Social Work Quality Assurance Officer

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Social Work Quality Assurance Officer to join a Greater Manchester council in Bolton. The role focuses on auditing and improving the quality of services delivered to children and families, using relational and restorative practice principles.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quality assurance activities, including case file audits, dip‑sampling and specific reviews.
• Track audit recommendations and ensure actions are completed.
• Collect feedback from children and families to gauge service quality.
• Support managers in embedding practice standards and preparing for inspections.
• Provide coaching and guidance to practitioners and audit pools.
• Contribute to workforce development and sector‑wide learning.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker with at least three years’ experience.
• Experience of supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Ability to apply the ILACS framework and relational/restorative approaches.
• Proven track record of supporting learning and development of staff.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ILACS evaluation criteria.
• Experience with audit processes and quality improvement.
