Software Engineer

About the role

Sixworks is looking for a Software Engineer to develop secure digital solutions that support defence and national security missions. You will work in highly secure environments, collaborating with architects, engineers and delivery specialists to deliver technology that enables faster, safer decision‑making for critical operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Build backend services and web APIs with Rust, Python or Go, ensuring robustness and scalability.
• Use Git for version control and collaborate with the team on code reviews.
• Containerise applications with Docker and manage deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
• Write clean, well‑documented code following industry best practices and standards such as OpenAPI.
• Participate in continuous learning and stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong ownership mindset, critical thinking and ability to work in a collaborative team.
• Comfortable developing in secure, remote environments and adapting to fast‑changing requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive problem‑solving attitude.
