Software Engineer – Prime Brokerage Core (London)

About the role

Join a fast‑growing global financial services firm as a Software Engineer focused on the core prime‑brokerage platform. You will design, develop and maintain the real‑time event processing system that underpins trade execution, position management, risk monitoring and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Build robust, low‑latency systems that manage the full trade lifecycle from order routing to settlement and reconciliation.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimise components for maximum throughput and reliability.
• Collaborate with the team to make sound architectural decisions and uphold high quality standards.
• Maintain and evolve core infrastructure supporting trade execution, risk monitoring and reporting modules.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development or engineering experience.
• Strong programming skills in Java, C++ or Python.
• Experience with industry‑standard technologies such as FIX protocol, market data feeds and order management systems.
• Background in distributed, high‑throughput services and real‑time transaction processing within trading, risk management or similar domains.
• Self‑starter with a strong sense of ownership, effective collaboration and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders across the firm.
• B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
