Software Solutions Consultant

About the role

The Software Solutions Consultant sits within the Technical Solutions function, reporting to the Head of Technical Solutions. You will design and build bespoke software engineering programmes for ambitious clients, collaborating with client engineering leads and subject‑matter experts across diverse tech stacks. The role blends hands‑on coding with curriculum design, leveraging modern tools such as AI coding assistants.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with clients to design high‑impact software engineering academies and upskilling journeys.
• Develop and deliver prototype codebases, hackathons and technical workshops, ensuring production‑grade, pedagogically sound examples.
• Build, test and deploy code repositories, technical challenges and learner environments (e.g., VS Code setups, GitHub Codespaces).
• Champion modern engineering practices, including AI coding assistants, Test‑Driven Development, CI/CD pipelines and secure coding standards.
• Support IT Operations in configuring learner environments and troubleshoot issues during live pilots.
• Act as a technical escalation point for the Product team and deliver Business‑As‑Usual software workshops when required.

Required profile

• Experienced software engineer or developer with a passion for education and mentorship.
• Proficient in at least two of the following languages: C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python.
• Deep practical knowledge of the full Software Development Life Cycle, version control (Git), CI/CD and testing strategies.
• Expert user of AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and understanding of their role in modern development.
• Ability to advise stakeholders on technical training needs and uphold engineering best practices.
