Solicitor – Commercial & Employment Law

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Solicitor to join our Manchester office, supporting a fast‑growing, service‑led law firm. The role offers the chance to manage your own caseload across commercial, corporate, civil and employment matters, with the opportunity to develop specialist expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct County Court litigation, including preparation of pleadings and representation at hearings.
• Handle regulatory investigations, inquests and prosecutions arising from workplace incidents.
• Provide commercial legal advice on contracts, disputes and potential mergers and acquisitions.
• Manage non‑contentious employment matters and represent clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings.
• Advise internal business units across the Group on a broad range of legal issues.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor, either newly qualified with a strong desire to learn or experienced with a solid commercial, corporate, civil or employment law background.
• Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
• Commercially minded with strong communication skills for advising diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Experience in litigation, regulatory investigations, and commercial legal advice.
• Knowledge of employment law and Employment Tribunal procedures (desirable but not essential).
