Solution Architect – B2B Payments & Banking (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the end‑to‑end design of a large‑scale B2B banking and payments transformation programme. The role is contract‑based (6 months) and hybrid, working closely with senior stakeholders, peer architects and offshore delivery teams to deliver a cohesive, scalable and resilient architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Own solution architecture and high‑level design across multiple workstreams.
• Define and govern event‑driven architecture patterns, including streaming and asynchronous integration.
• Manage cross‑domain dependencies and complex integrations across B2B banking platforms.
• Lead architecture governance, design approvals and technical decision‑making.
• Ensure non‑functional requirements such as scalability, resilience, security and compliance are met.
• Facilitate design workshops and maintain the solution architecture roadmap.

Required profile

• Strong background in Solution Architecture with extensive high‑level design ownership.
• Hands‑on experience designing event‑driven architectures (Kafka, streaming, async patterns).
• Proven experience within B2B banking and payments (SEPA, SWIFT, Faster Payments, ISO 20022).
• Track record delivering architecture on large‑scale banking transformation programmes.
• Experience operating in complex, multi‑vendor and offshore delivery environments.
