About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join a vibrant care home kitchen in Newton Abbot. This full‑time temporary position offers a fast‑paced environment serving residents with a range of dietary needs, from liquidised meals to standard menus.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook bespoke meals, including liquidised, soft and standard diets.
- Manage allergies and specific dietary requirements for residents.
- Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards throughout the kitchen.
- Support day‑to‑day kitchen operations and coordinate with senior kitchen staff.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a comparable kitchen role.
- Knowledge of specialist diets and allergen handling.
- Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service.
- Reliability and ability to start immediately.

What we offer
- Hourly rate of £19.19 with weekly payment.
- Potential progression to a permanent contract.
- Training in IDDSI standards (provided if required).
- Work schedule: Sunday‑Tuesday 7 am‑6 pm, Wednesday 7 am‑1 pm.
