SOX Controls & Reporting Tax Manager (9-12 month FTC)

About the role

This fixed‑term position (9‑12 months) is with an internationally recognised business seeking a SOX Controls & Reporting Tax Manager to join its Group Tax function in London. Reporting to the Senior Group Tax Reporting Manager, you will be the primary UK contact for tax‑related SOX compliance, ensuring controls are designed, executed and documented for audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen SOX‑aligned tax reporting processes across the organisation.
• Execute tax controls consistently and maintain audit‑ready documentation.
• Maintain and enhance tax process narratives, risk and control matrices (RACMs) and supporting SOX documentation.
• Review control deficiencies, assess risks and support remediation activities.
• Support quarterly and annual tax reporting and provision processes.
• Partner with external advisers and internal stakeholders to document significant tax judgments.
• Drive process improvement, standardisation and automation of tax controls.
• Develop calendars, checklists and work‑paper templates to improve efficiency.

Required profile

• Background in corporate tax, tax reporting, tax compliance or tax accounting (industry or practice).
• Strong experience with SOX controls, internal controls testing, governance and audit readiness.
• Good understanding of PCAOB requirements and their application to tax processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance, tax advisers and cross‑functional teams.
