Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher – Primary (Lewisham)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Lewisham, working with primary‑aged children who have a range of special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for primary‑aged pupils.
• Support pupils with complex learning needs and communication difficulties.
• Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, parents, therapists, and external agencies.
• Contribute to the school’s education, training programmes and professional development initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Proven experience working with primary‑aged children with special educational needs.
• Essential experience of TEACCH and SCERTS approaches.
• Strong understanding of strategies that support communication, social interaction and independence.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth.
