Special Educational Needs (SEN) Tutor – £27/hr

About the role

We are seeking passionate SEN Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one, needs‑based tuition for children with Special Educational Needs in Sittingbourne and surrounding areas. You will work flexibly, supporting students who currently lack a formal school placement and have Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised, one‑to‑one tuition sessions tailored to each learner’s goals.
• Adapt teaching strategies to address individual learning challenges and developmental objectives.
• Collaborate closely with parents, carers and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and session outcomes.

Required profile

• Prior experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and targeted intervention delivery.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient, supportive attitude.
• Genuine passion for helping students succeed.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

• Competitive rate of £27 per hour, with an extra hour’s pay for every 5th hour worked (planning and preparation).
