About the role
Havencross School is launching a new SEN provision for primary and secondary pupils across Key Stages 2–4. As a Special Educational Needs Teacher you will create personalised, hands‑on learning experiences that support academic, social and emotional development.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess lessons across a range of subjects, adapting content to each pupil’s needs and interests.
- Monitor and record progress against individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Provide pastoral support and motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.
- Work one‑to‑one or in small groups (maximum five pupils) to tailor learning interventions.
- Collaborate closely with Teaching Assistants and multidisciplinary staff.
Required profile
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent experience in special education.
- Passion for working with children who have autism, social, emotional, behavioural or mental health difficulties.
- Ability to design flexible, project‑based lessons and use therapeutic approaches.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
