Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant – 1:1 EYFS Support

About the role

We are seeking a caring and patient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non‑verbal pupil in an EYFS classroom. The role starts on 1 September and runs Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm for the full academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to the pupil throughout the school day.
• Support communication, learning and social development.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
• Encourage participation in classroom activities and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
• Record observations and feedback on progress as required.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in an EYFS or primary setting.
• Patient, compassionate and resilient attitude.
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to undertake personal care duties.
