About the role
We are seeking a caring and patient Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a non‑verbal pupil in an EYFS classroom. The role starts on 1 September and runs Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am‑3:30 pm for the full academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver one‑to‑one assistance to the pupil throughout the school day.
- Support communication, learning and social development.
- Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene.
- Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies.
- Encourage participation in classroom activities and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.
- Record observations and feedback on progress as required.
Required profile
- Experience working with children in an EYFS or primary setting.
- Patient, compassionate and resilient attitude.
- Confidence supporting pupils with additional needs.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to undertake personal care duties.
