Special Needs Teaching Assistant

About the role

Engage Education is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for pupils with additional needs in a mainstream primary school in Leeds. This full‑time, 12‑week temporary‑to‑permanent position starts in September.

Key responsibilities

• Support learners on a one‑to‑one basis, often with complex learning needs.
• Collaborate with other support staff to engage pupils in classroom activities.
• Provide regular feedback to teachers and parents regarding pupil progress.
• Assist pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD and related needs.

Required profile

• Proven behaviour management techniques.
• Experience working with a range of special educational needs.
• Ability to engage young people using varied methods.
• Commitment to a long‑term placement at the school.
• Resilient attitude and adaptability.
