Specialist Dermatology Consultant – 9‑Month Fixed Term

About the role

This 9‑month fixed‑term position offers a unique chance to join a supportive multidisciplinary dermatology team at West Suffolk Hospital. You will deliver high‑quality outpatient and inpatient skin care, working alongside four consultants and eight specialist nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist outpatient and inpatient dermatology services, including tumour and general skin care.
• Perform local‑anaesthetic surgical procedures when required.
• Diagnose and manage skin conditions, with a focus on skin cancer.
• Participate in MDT meetings and supervise junior doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
• Manage patient communications, including GP correspondence and result notifications.
• Contribute to clinical governance, audit activities, and continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified medical doctor with specialist training in dermatology.
• Experience in both outpatient and inpatient dermatology care.
• Ability to perform local‑anaesthetic skin surgery.
• Commitment to teaching, supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
